VR Orthopaedic Training

Virtual Reality can help surgical trainees to practice their skills and operations in a safe, no risk, yet realistic environment.

The field of orthopaedics still needs to include VR in their core training, because of its advantages as a teaching aid, particularly against current simulation tools.

In a survey of over 500 orthopaedic trainees, 93% said that they did not feel comfortable when doing their first arthroscopy. Of the same group, more than 70% believed that using a VR simulator is important for their training.

VR simulation is considered a realistic and enjoyable training and surgical experience, which provides a 0 risk environment for the trainees.

Virtual Reality provides an immersive and yet to be explored technology, that was already adopted in many industries, but it is not widely used in the field of orthopaedics.
